Biggest problem is UNCERTAINTY

We wrote 5 basic differences between statistics and mathematics through the video and article we watched.

Statistic

• Result is variable.
• Result is uncertain.
• The measurement is abstract .
• The ways to reach an answer are inductive reasning and conclusions.

Mathematics

• Result is not variable.
• Result is certain.
• The measurement is physical.
• The ways to reach an answer are means of deduction, logical proof or mathematical induction.

CODAP

ROLLER COASTER DATABASES

CODAP stands for Common Online Data Analysis Platform.CODAP is a data analysis platform where we can easily work with data, simulations and games and share your ideas with other users around the world. We analyzed roller coaster data. When we examine the roller coaster in codap, we first see two separate data as old and new roller coaster. When we look at the graphs in CODAP, we were able to see and compare how high the roller coaster went up according to its design style, its speed, which is the fastest train in the states, and the difference of the speed train’s design style over the years. We saw the data of the roller coaster with which city and in which parks and analyzed their comparison.CODAP allows us to see the status of a data feature and we can share this data with users all over the world. When we examined CODAP, we realized that we could answer all the statistical questions.CODAP helped us find the answer to our questions easily when we examined the graphics in a short way. We would like to share our questions and answers about them.

QUESTİON 1: Are there any differences in the design of roller coasters over the years?

If we look at the design of the train and the date of construction of the train;

• We see that most of the high-speed trains made in the 2000s were designed to sit down.
• As the 2020s approached, the Batman The Ride roller coaster was built for the first time in the state of Texas in 2015 (wings) design

.

• If you look at the years and design patterns, the preference has always been to sit down.
• The first roller coaster built was designed in 1915 in the state of Tennessee named “Zippin Pippin” sitting down.

QUESTİON 2: In what state is a roller coaster faster?

,If we look at the trains in the state and the speed of the trains;

• The Top Thrill Dragster express train in the state of Ohio has a speed of 120 and is the fastest in any other state.
• When we look at these charts, it is possible to see the state with the slowest roller coaster. This is a train called Bobsleds in New York. The speed of this is 23.

QUESTİON 3: In what design form, can a roller coaster make it to the highest point?

According to the design, if we look at the highest point for roller coasters;

• The Top Thrill Dragster roller coaster in the state of Ohio is designed as a sit down and is the only high-speed train to reach the highest point compared to other roller coaster trains. The highest point is 420 ft.
• It is a roller coaster in the state of California called Superman The Escape, designed to sit down again. The Top Thrill Dragster was designed right after the roller coaster. The highest point is 415 ft.
• The lowest-height roller coaster is the High Speed Thrill roller coaster in the state of Pennsylvania.The highest point is 18 ft.
